Space Science

The space science gallery is a memorial to Dr. Ronald McNair, who died in the Challenger accident in 1986. It features the space suit in which Astronaut Charles Duke trained for the Apollo 16 mission in 1972 and several pieces of equipment that were used on the moon, including this heavily moon-dust stained instruction booklet. The gallery also features the historic Fitz telescope built in 1849 for Erskine College.
