Vanna White (1957-) is a captivating television game show hostess and actress. She was born in North Myrtle Beach, S.C. and worked briefly as a model before pursuing an acting career.
In 1982 she competed against 200 other applicants for her current job turning letters on the game show “Wheel of Fortune.” The show, featuring host Pat Sajak, became enormously popular and in 2002 was viewed by more than 100 million people worldwide. It continues to be a highly-rated television show, and Vanna White has become an American entertainment icon.
