Ani Simmons

Andrea (Ani) Simmons is our Director of Audience Engagement. A museum educator since 2008, Ani designs inclusive, engaging programs that connect learners of all ages to history. Her 15 years teaching English, History, and Humanities in Texas and abroad ground her commitment to meaningful, standards-aligned learning experiences.

Before joining our team, Ani served as Director of The Bob and Marion Wilson Teacher Institute at the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, expanding nationwide educator programs, improving operations, and launching new digital initiatives. She previously developed K–12 and community programs at the Frisco Heritage Museum and led education outreach and partnerships at The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza.

Ani is an active field contributor, dedicated to museums’ power to spark empathy, civic engagement, and lifelong learning.
