Member Preview Night | Birds Exhibitions Opening

Members are invited to an evening preview of the State museum's two newest exhibitions, Bird Photographer of the Year and Wings of Wonder, exploring the beauty, diversity and natural wonder of birds. Enjoy a showing of Bird Constellations, a member exclusive planetarium experience, Bugs 4D, and a Bird Adaptation Mix-and-Match activity with our educators. Take advantage of your Museum Store discount and explore our newest bird-inspired merchandise. We'll have Jeremiah's Italian Ice on-site serving up a selection of their favorites!

Weather permitting, the Observatory will be open for evening sky viewing.
  

Bird Constellations | In this live, members-only presentation, we’ll do some birding of a different kind. Using the planetarium’s digital sky system, we’ll travel around the world to learn how to identify various bird constellations in the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Bugs 4D | Explore the extraordinary hidden world of bugs! Narrated by the beloved Dame Judi Dench, Bugs 4D brings viewers on an up-close-and-personal adventure in the Borneo rainforests, using cutting-edge technology that magnifies these insects up to 250,000 times their normal size. Join the amazing giant Asian mantis and stunning swallowtail butterfly and many more as they hatch and grow in this unforgettable, spectacular 4D Experience® that reveals the tremendous life of bugs.
